Many students struggle to develop critical and independent thinking skills, either due to environmental factors, inadequate teaching methods, or a lack of attention to their psychological development. As Islamic educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools play a crucial role in shaping the character and personality of their students. In addition to providing in-depth religious education, they also serve as a place for mental, spiritual, and social development. Within this development process, developing intellectual independence through higher-order thinking skills is crucial. This study aims to describe and analyze the guidance and counseling-based care system employed in Islamic boarding schools to develop intellectual independence at Riyadul Ulum Wadda'wah Condong Islamic Boarding School and Al Amin Islamic Boarding School in Tasikmalaya City. The approach used in this study is a qualitative one. A case study method was used. The results of the study indicate that a guidance and counseling-based care system significantly contributes to the development of guidance and counseling (BK) services in fostering the intellectual independence of students. Through this service, students are trained to think analytically, evaluatively, and creatively in dealing with academic and daily life problems.
2026-04-30T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 International Journal Of Science Education and Technology Management (IJSETM) https://ijsetm.my.id/index.php/ijsetm/article/view/66 Application Of the Expository Learning Method In Understanding The Perception Of Hijaiyah Letter Forms In 'Mild Mentally Retarded' Students At SLB YPLB-LB Hegar Asih 2026-05-26T03:41:50+07:00 Zul Andrivat zulandrivat468@gmail.com Aan Hasanah aan.hasanah@uinsgd.ac.id Badrudin Badrudin dr.badrudin@uinsgd.ac.id Dewi Sadiah dewi.sadiah@uinsgd.ac.id
This research is motivated by the low abilities of students with special needs, especially those classified as "mild mentally retarded" in recognizing and understanding the shape of the Hijaiyah letters. Students are involved in exploratory activities such as mini-research, article presentations, and text-based group discussions. The school climate has become more positive and dialogical. Relationships between students, teachers, and management have become more open thanks to regular reflection spaces and collaborative literacy activities. Student discussion forums have become a healthy platform for criticism and appreciation of the school system.
2026-01-08T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 International Journal Of Science Education and Technology Management (IJSETM) https://ijsetm.my.id/index.php/ijsetm/article/view/48 Transformational Leadership of School Principals in Developing Islamic Education in Elementary Madrasahs 2026-01-02T00:56:00+07:00 Evi Erfiyana evierfiyana2271@gmail.com Ika Kartika opan.arifudin@yahoo.com Opan Arifudin opan.arifudin@yahoo.com
This study aims to describe and analyze the role of transformational leadership of principals in the development of Islamic education in Islamic elementary schools. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type through a case study. Data collection was conducted through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies of key informants, namely the BUMDes Director, Secretary/Admin, and Village Head. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that there are several dominant factors hindering the operational effectiveness of BUMDes, including the lack of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), limited human resources, and a weak internal control system that is still manual-based. In addition, the level of digitalization adoption is still low due to limited digital literacy of managers, minimal technological infrastructure, and the lack of a system that is appropriate to the organization's needs. These obstacles have an impact on work inefficiency, a high risk of errors, low transparency, and less than optimal managerial decision-making. This study concludes that operational obstacles and low digitalization are interrelated and affect the overall performance of BUMDes. Therefore, integrated improvement efforts are needed through the preparation of SOPs, increasing human resource capacity, and implementing digital systems that are in accordance with the level of organizational readiness (e-readiness) to support more professional and sustainable BUMDes management
2026-04-07T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 International Journal Of Science Education and Technology Management (IJSETM) https://ijsetm.my.id/index.php/ijsetm/article/view/63 Life Skills-Based Curriculum Innovation Management in Developing Independent Character at MAS Darul Hikmah Purwakarta and MAN 1 Bandung 2026-04-27T15:51:16+07:00 Andi Saefulloh Anwar andisaefullohanwar@gmail.com Uus Ruswandi uusruswandi@uinsgd.ac.id Ulfiah Ulfiah ulfiah@uinsgd.ac.id Bambang Samsul Arifin andisaefullohanwar@gmail.com
This research is motivated by the urgency of strengthening students' independent character amidst the challenges of globalization, technological disruption, and social complexity which demand adaptive competencies and life skills (life skills) which is integral. The purpose of this study is to analyze the planning, implementation, evaluation, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in the management of life skills-based curriculum innovation in developing students' independent character. This research employed a qualitative approach with a multi-site study method.
